Weekend Update (not SNL)

Sick. Everyone went to Tallahassee and I was stuck here for the weekend...alone...awesome. Why? Some stupid project in school. Whatever, not the point. Everyone left, and I had the apartment to myself.

JUST THEN
I get a call from my good amigo Andysteez. He tells me that him, Harrison, Aaron Davis, and Crunk Johnny are coming up to O-town and need a place to crash. I thought it would alright since I wouldn't be alone on a Friday night.

LATER THAT NIGHT
The crew arrives. First thing out of thier mouths were "Guitar Hero!!!!". Well, at least Harrison and Andysteez screamed it. Really, they did. So while the two guitar heroines were performing, Aaron and Johnny wanted to go skate. Pretty soon, everyone wanted to. So, where else to have a chill sesh? Downstairs in the parking lot! Whoohoo! After trying to trè flip better than Andysteez (which is impossible anyways...) we decide to go eat something. Lazy Moon was our destination. Finding a parking spot where there are three different clubs/bars completely packed is pretty much like finding someone sober at Mardi Gras. Anyways, we found one, and had to walk like 3 miles to Lazy Moon. On the way to the pizza parlor, I show everyone a steep sidewalk/manny pad that Steve Otero kickflipped into and manualed down. Johnny says he could do it, first try. After some arguing and realization, Johnny said he could manual the entire thing (flat, then down) in two tries. $5 was the bet, from everyone. I said we would come back, because I was hungry.

After the pizza party, we went back to the apt. and watched SkateFL2. Then, sleep.

THE NEXT MORNING
Going to sleep at 3AM + waking up at 9AM = very tired. I was getting ready to go to the UCF Library to work on that dumb project, when I overhear Johnny talking to someone on the phone. It was Carlos, and he was already on his way to Orlando! Sick. I completely forget about the project, and got my stuff ready for a sesh.

FIRST SPOT
After getting a zip-down, UCF, sweater for Aaron, we arrive at the first spot of the day. It was a "tops" of some-sort...or thats what I thought. It turned out to just be an abandonned Winn-Dixie with some concrete barricades and one gap. So, pretty much nothing. Harrison got a switch ollie, and Andysteez filmed his tip trick there.

SECOND SPOT
After sweating at a worthless spot, we head over to 3 flat 2 to meet up with Carlos and his gang. And also for my gang to try and skate it. We arrive, hugs and handshakes are going all around, and I meet some new faces. After some people try some tricks, and after they realized how dumb the spot can be, we head over to our actual first spot of the day.

THIRD(first...?What was I thinking?)SPOT
School. I forgot what it was called again, but this school is amazing. It looks like a So.Cal. school with ledges, stairs, amazings everywhere. So, we start seshing. Carlos starts his rampage with a first try back 5050 on the down ledge, followed by a (requested by me) tailslide. Then, he decides to throw a switch one in there for giggles:
Switch Tail

I then direct my attention towards the 6 stair/block/whatever where everyone else was skating. Harrison hurt his foot trying a nollie heel, so he was out for a little. Aaron shuv-tailed grab down it second try. Carlos was trying some tricks, and then just threw down some early grabs:
Early Bird Pressing R2 and L2

Then, Andysteez does what he does best, varial heel:
Assistant Andy

After these last tricks were done, we heard the boot coming for us. A P.E. teacher came out and was telling us about how we can't get hurt and what-not. Whatever, some more clips were filmed during the getting-kicked-out speech. We were off to our next spot.

NEXT(FOURTH)SPOT
Another school. But, this one sucks. Its alright for flatground, since it has a nice smooth surface, but thats it. Anyways, everyone notices at the end of the benches was a trash can waiting to be bonked, ollied, and whatever. Carlos was the first to bonk it:
That's Garbage Sister

Ollie by one of Carlos' friends (I'm sorry, I'm bad with names):
Taking out the Garbage

Harrison did a few push-ups after this nosebonk:
Nosebonk Action

Same friend, lipslide:
Ummmmmm...

Andysteez, also known as Assistant Andy now (ILY Andy), with a nosebonk action:

After the sesh, I say I want a crew photo. So, I took four:
The Crew
The Crew 2
The Crew 3
The Crew
These are gonna be Myspace defaults in the matter of seconds...

FINAL SPOT
Another school...haha. Oviedo High School has a chill spot and then a death spot. We decided to skate the chill spot. 7 rails. Everyone was trying different tricks. Some making them, some getting made...ummmmmm...getting hurt. After everyone, even Carlos, tried and tried, the sesh looked like it was coming to an end. But after some rest, Carlos went back up and performed these two last tricks to officially end the night:

SIDE NOTE: Carlos popped over the curb for both these tricks.

Nosegrinders
Right after this, and having a generator and lights in 80% of my photos, we moved the lights to the other side

Front Blunters

Another amazing sesh with everyone. It was definately fun and can't wait for another one. Maybe next weekend...?

P.S.
JOHNNY BET
I almost forgot. The bet. $20 at stake. Of course, Johnny doesn't come close the two tries he proclaimed he would do it in. He did do it, though, 5th try. But, of course, he doesn't fall through with the bet and used every excuse he could think of to not pay us. He will forever have a $5 debt with us.

Super Superia

I got this film (Fuji Superia 1600) mainly because I love grain and color. So, when I see this combination, I almost blew up. I've heard about it before, but none of the camera stores around West Palm carried it. But now in O-town, I can finally use it as I please. It's a really great film, whether used indoors or outside. Indoors, it doesn't have that much grain as it does outdoors. But indoors, it still gives amazing results. I just got my 36exp. back, scanned them, and now here they are:

NOTE:I forgot to mention, there may be some light leaks and other cool things on this photos. Turns out my OM-10 is getting old and I guess the back is starting to fall off very slightly. Enough to let a few leaks in. Whatever, some look good, some don't.

Best Weekend ever

And as usual, all these photos, and some more, can be found on my flickr
Have a great day!

Alright, I'm done

I should've said this a while back. I decided to let go of this year "Photo of the day" thing. I only had 24 days or so, and looking back, my best photos were at the beginning. Meaning, I would be taking photos of things around my apartment just so I can have another "photo of the day". I really did not want that to happen, but it did. So, instead of throwing up Myspace photos/really bad product shots, I'm just gonna take photos of things I like. Yay!
